It’s here! The International Film Festival Rotterdam has finally announced its 2017 program and we are happy to announce that Gay Rotterdam is collaborating the festival to bring you the latest news and information about the event.
For 46 years the IFFR has brought with it a vast selection of films, documentaries and shorts to the city, many of which have yet to be seen by other audiences worldwide. With close to 500 film screenings and art exhibitions planned during the event, the festival is lives up to its reputation as one of the most exciting and buzzworthy things happening in the Netherlands.
Giving credence to those familiar with the festival, one can even say that it’s easy to get lost in all the excitement about town. This is precisely why our editors, Marije Hammel and Teun Botterweg met with IFFR Director, Bero Beyer, to not only discuss this year’s theme and events, but get the scoop on its LGBTQ program. “Just go with the flow, like seeing the sunset or making love,” says Beyer, assuring us that not only will the festival have something for everyone, but that we have nothing to worry about.
The festival kicks off January 25 and ends February 5. Plan accordingly and catch the full program here. Keep an eye on our page for more information on the fun and excitement surrounding the event.
